The Cutest B&B in Denmark
“Live simply so that others may simply live." - Elizabeth Ann Seton
Ok, well maybe there’s some tough competition. But it suited Michael and I perfectly. We were actually the first guests ever, as the hosts had just opened their top floor. They were excited to have us there, it felt like a blind date!
It should fall into the Airbnb realm, but we found it on Booking.comsince we were on the move and staying only one night. The flat was a traditional post and beam style house, but updated to a post-modern kind of minimal. We had an overlook of Skanderborg Sø (Lake) and in the morning, a lovely European breakfast on the terrace.
Maybe it's my love affair with the Scandinavian lifestyle, the minimal aesthetic, the functionality of design, and the happiness factor. It's my inner calling to get rid of all uneccessary things, like I did before I moved to Germany. I pared my life down to a few bags, a few books and a couple of guitars. It was the best thing I could have ever done. And here, in the top floor of this little flat in the historical section of a town called Skanderborg, I felt free.
I'm sure there are some killer places to stay all across Denmark, but this experience really spoke to me. I had to share it!
